Tóm tắt: This paper summarises the results of studies of the non-state hospital sector in Vietnam undertaken by the Health Strategy and Policy Institute, Ministry of Health, Vietnam, with the support of the Health Policy and Health Finance Knowledge Hub at the Nossal Institute for Global Health, University of Melbourne. The paper forms part of a broader examination of the role of non-state hospitals in middle income countries of Asia, with further in-depth country studies also in Indonesia. The aim of these studies was to examine the recent growth of hospital services in selected countries of the Asia-Pacific region, to identify factors contributing to and impacting on this growth and to explore the potential regulatory and policy responses. This paper examines the findings from Vietnam in the light of contemporary international literature and policy concerns.
