Tóm tắt: In the past the make and use matrixes, presented in the 1968 System of National Accounts (SNA), were used as intermediate step for compiling input-output tables (I.O.T) in Vietnam. Based on this rule the General Statistics Office compiled the input-output tables. When the 1993 System of National Accounts was established, the make and use matrixes moved to supply and use tables (S.U.T) whilst input-output table seemed to disappear. Actually, almost all Asian countries still regard the input-output analysis as important tool for economic analysis. This paper focuses on putting forward the approach for converting the S.U.T to I.O.T, especially in the case the supply and use tables are non – square.
